Values important to the process include:

All of us are valuable exactly as we are. None of us is perfect and we are wonderful even in our state of imperfection. Every client will find acceptance, hope and the belief that each of us is doing our best. This time and place in life is the place to grow and learn.

  • Pain to Pearls is a philosophy that says we cannot predict or prevent pain from entering our lives, but we CAN decide where it takes us.  As the sand in the oyster transforms into a beautiful pearl, something good, even beautiful in your life may begin as pain and end in pearls.

  • The Courage of Forgiveness is a conviction based upon the need to address unresolved offenses that lead to alienation and resentment.  No one in the grip of bitterness is free.  Guilt and anger internalized, impact mind, body and soul.  The only solution is forgiveness.  It takes great courage to forgive self and others. Forgiveness is the path to freedom.

  • Wonder and Gratitude.  Wonder and gratitude are the antidotes to discouragement.  Life is a gift, untie its ribbons and live it with boldness.

  • Wabi Sabi is a Japanese word for a feeling and experience of the beauty of all things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.  It is a beauty of all things humble, modest and unconventional.  All things are imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.  So are we, imperfect, and wonderful.
  • "We must re-teach all things their loveliness" (based on the teachings of St Francis of Assisi) Everyone is endowed with great value, dignity and inherent beauty. Sometimes in life we lose that sense. We give a gift when we mirror to others the loveliness we see in them.
